If you or someone you know and love is 55 or older then you need to think about aging in place. “Aging In Place” means staying in your home as long as possible. Truth be known only a small percentage of seniors end up in senior living facilities. Most people “Age in Place” at home. So the question is how do we live the best life possible at home? For many people that means being near loved ones and friends, near medical facilities, near shopping/recreation/social opportunities and good climates. It also means being free from household responsibilities and having more time for other planned activities. Consequently the dream home we purchased so long ago has become the old homestead and not a good fit for aging in place. It is time to transition into a trendy, sporty, more flexible, easier to maintain, better located home. Transitions can be difficulty or they can be pleasant, even fun. A fun transition is a well-planned transition. That’s why planning sooner, w-a-y sooner, for Aging In Place is so important. Do you have questions about Aging In Place?
